sourceSept. 13 In the past week, Apple has revamped nearly its entire line of consumer products, setting the stage for the upcoming holiday season.
Last Wednesday, Apple introduced an upgraded line of iMacs powered by Intel's new Core 2 Duo processor, including a new low-end $999 model featuring a 17-inch display and a brand-new 24-inch configuration with a $1,999 sticker price.
To less fanfare, Apple also upgraded the Mac mini, keeping the price and most specifications unchanged, but replacing the Core Solo chip in the low-end configuration with a Core Duo processor. The speed bump leaves every Mac in Apple's line-up with at least two processor cores.
